Mission Falls Ranch is a cattle and sheep ranch founded in 1920 and named in the 1940's because of the view of Mission Falls in the Mission Mountain Range of Western Montana. We were lucky enough to buy the ranch in 1985 after Lynn retired from the USFS. We have raised Gelbvieh cattle, Arabian horses, and Dorper/Katahdin sheep over the years.
Shortly after beginning ranching we decided to buy our first Border Collie to help us. The dogs have been part of our ranch life ever since. Border Collies are twice the help of hired hands with a work ethic that can't be beat, are our best buddies and companions, and they work for food and love. So over the past 30 years it has been our mission to breed the best line of working Border Collie....dogs who will fill the needs of people who love them like we do. After 33 years and after my husband Lynn's passing this last spring I have decided to call it quits. I still have Rose (b 2009) and Rhett (b 2012) as companions but all others have found good homes. Thank you all so much for buying our puppies in the past....they are living the dream... marvelous careers in herding, agility, Search and Rescue and lots of other great things. It has been a great ride !!
Joan also paints...oil and mixed media paintings, of animals and other images, which are a natural outgrowth of the beauty around the valley. They are a reflection of life on the ranch. She studied and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Michigan State University. Color and Line are her passions!
